I saw this quote posted to Twitter the other day and haven’t been able to get it out of my head. It’s popularly attributed to Gandhi, but knowing that internet quotes are notoriously unreliable, I did a little bit of research on this one. According to wikiquotes it’s debated that Gandhi ever said it, because it first appeared in a 1918 US Trade Union address by Nicholas Klein. Stupid inaccurate internet, but I decided it would be fun to illustrate the quote anyway. I think the message rings true. You can describe the evolution of any major movement in society with those four stages.
I kept the type and graphics simple, just like the message. I really think that sometimes simple is the most challenging. You really have to be picky choosing what details to include, because when there isn’t a lot going on the little things become that much more important.
Hopefully I’ll have some more new projects up in the next few days. We’re getting a LOT of snow here, and my weekend plans consist of painting, working on my shop listings, staying in pajama pants, and not leaving my house if at all possible. It’s going to be spectacular.
